These same principles, utilized by engineers, are implemented to address the challenging problems of every day family life. Challenging problems like organizing and Dr. Douglas J. States, M.D., practicing family physician and father of four young children efficiently running a household, and of course parenting young children with teaching, nurturing, and discipline. Successfully raising children and efficiently running a household is a daunting task in today's busy society. These challenges are magnified by two parents working outside the home and single-parent families. Lessons and chores are fun with Dr. States's Computer Parent Ingenuity, determination, technology, experience, perseverance and teamwork have culminated in the development of an awesome solution to many of today's daunting challenges facing the modern family. Dr. States's Computer Parent is the tool to help get your children, your family and your household back in order, running smoothly, relieving stress while having a positive impact on all members of the family. Dr. States's Computer Parent will be the new member of the family!Dr. Douglas J. States, M.D., practicing family physician and father of four young children, needed assistance for he and his wife in managing the daunting tasks of efficiently managing a household and motivating the children to help by performing their chores and becoming more responsible about their homework, music lessons, Helping out! finances and their personal development. Thus, in April of 1998, a computer software program was designed and implemented, it was dubbed "Computer Parent". As the name implies the computer Everyone has chores with rewards! software program came to serve as a parental assistant; teaching, rewarding, monitoring, and encouraging the children in regards to performance of their daily chores and responsibilities in a self disciplined and self administrated fashion. Later utilities were added for organization and family communication.
Dr. States's Computer Parent will be the new member of the family!Since that date, Computer Parent has evolved to take on other responsibilities and duties to serve the family and improve the effectiveness of the parents. Modifications were made to Everyone has their own set of chores! cope with shortcomings and failures that have, through history, been a part of every system developed to "help" children be more responsible and efficient in their daily responsibilities. The commercialization of Computer Parent was undertaken in July, 1999. This necessitated collaboration with professional computer software designers and programmers to create a high quality commercial software product on CD-ROM. Marketing our enthusiasm has been a new experience for the States's and we are grateful to our team of marketing professionals helping us get the word out about this exciting product. It's been a grass roots project with extensive help from family and friends as well as our professional colleges.
